Hartman, 75, died suddenly at noon Tuesday as the result of a heart attack at the home of his son, Oliver Hartman, East Lincoln avenue. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for some time, but death was unexpected. Born August 19, 1868 in Lyons Township, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hartman. January 13, 1897, he was married to Annie L. Kimball, and the couple lived on a farm in North Plains for four years, later purchasing a farm in Ronald where they had lived for 30 years. Then they moved to Muir, where they had lived until the death of Mrs. Hartman July 7, 1940. Since then Mr. Hartman had lived with his son, Oliver. Surviving besides the son, Oliver, are three other sons, Benjamin Hartman of Grand Rapids, Orville Hartman of Three Rivers, and Weston Hartman of Lansing, also five grandchildren, and two brothers, Benjamin Hartman of Lyons and David Hartman of Arizona. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Oliver Hartman home. Rev. C.A. Brady of the Church of Christ will officiate, and burial will be in the Woodard Lake cemetery. The body will repose at the Stone funeral home until Thursday afternoon when it will be taken to the Hartman home. -------- Funeral services for Marcus R. Hartman, 75, of East Lincoln avenue, were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of his son, Oliver Hartman, East Lincoln avenue. Rev. C.A. Brady of the Church of Christ officiated and burial was in Woodard Lake cemetery. Pallbearers were four sons, Benjamin Hartman, Oliver Hartman, Orville Hartman and Weston Hartman and two nephews, Stephen Kimball and Wilbur Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. August Krieger were in charge of floral arrangements. Attending services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hartman, Jr. of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hartman of Three Rivers; Mr. and Mrs. Weston Hartman, Mr. and Mrs. A.D.D. Wood, Miss Gladys Hartman and Mr. and Mrs. Ives Wood of Lansing; Mrs. Belle [Unreadable] and Mrs. Doris Harper of St. Johns; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wright of Pewamo; Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hartman, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kimball, and Mrs. Minnie Bennett of Lyons; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kimball, Charles Ludwick, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Meyers, Ney Spaulding and Monty Spaulding of Muir.
