Ionia County News-Thurs. Sept. 19, 1957

GEORGE HARTMAN
George Hartman, 52, of 418 W. Washington, died very suddenly Monday, September 16,
of a heart attack at 11:45 a.m., while working at the Brown Corporation.

Mr. Hartman was born January 10, 1905, in Montcalm county, the son of Lewis and
Elsie Hartman.

He had made his home in Ionia the past thirty years. Previous to that he lived in
Lyons. He was employed at the Ionia Bottling Company for a number of years and for the past
three weeks at the Brown Corporation.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, and his brothers, Lemuel Hartman of Ionia, Milo of
Muir, Zeeland of Detroit., Lewis and John of Flint, and Larry of Saranac; two
half-brothers, Clarence Mulnix of Greenville and Leonard Mulnix of Muir; two half-sisters,
Mrs.Franklin Valentine of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Charles Smejkal of Lyons.

The funeral service will be held Thursday (to-day) September 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the
Phelps Funeral Homes, with Rev. Alfred Miller officiating, and burial will be in Balcom
Cemetery.
