The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, April 3, 2007
Richard (Dick) Hartman, age 80, passed away March 30, 2007 in Grand Rapids. He 
was born March 8, 1927 in Ionia the son of Milo and Gladys (Stull) Hartman. He 
married Ilene Fuller August 7, 1948 at Ionia First Methodist Church.

He served in the Navy during WW II. He was a member of Sheridan VFW. Pa was an 
avid fisherman, hunter and card player. He coached little league for many 
years and was known as “Pa”. He was a loving husband, father and pa.

Pa is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Ilene Hartman of Ionia; children 
Kathy and Don Ward of Ionia, Kim and Cindy Hartman of Ionia, Kurt and Jackie 
Hartman of Ionia; brother Donald Hartman and Alice Parrish of Saranac; sisters 
Ruth Anderson and Robert Brooks of Muir, Judy and Lou Lemke of Muir; 
grandchildren Jeff and Suzanne Ward, Jason and Sarah Ward, Aaron and Kari 
Hartman, Ryan Hartman and Stephanie Dye, Lyndsee Hartman and 5 great 
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 
brothers.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment in Balcom Cemetery.  The 
family received friends and relatives Monday at the funeral home. Anyone 
wishing may make memorial contributions in Pa's name to family choice.
