Hartman, 64, of rural Ionia died suddenly at Ionia County Memorial hospital Thursday at 5 p.m. He was born December 14, 1902 in Bloomer township, Montcalm county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hartman. For the pat 41 years he was an employee of Ionia County Road Commission. Besides his wife, Maple, he leaves one son, John of South Ionia, and one daughter, Mrs. Ronald Worthy of Remus; four grandchildren; four brothers, Zeeland and John of Detroit, Milo of Muir and Larry of Saranac, two half brothers, Delbert and Clarence Mulnix of Greenville, and two half sisters, Mrs. Franklin Valentine of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Charles Smejkal of Lyons. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers funeral home with interment in Balcom cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Tuesday, June 6, 1967 Funeral services for Lemuel Hartman were Monday with Rev. Gerald VanHouten officiating and interment was in Balcom cemetery. Bearers were Jack Bowerman, Merl Burns, Clarence Dinehart, Sam Conner, Adrian Cobb and George Miller. Ionia County Road commission employees attended in a group. Those attending were from Remus, Belding, Greenville, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Ionia, Muir, Lyons, Carson City and Orleans.
