Ionia Sentinel, Friday, September 4, 1981

PORTLAND - Peter Hartwick, 89, of 11751 Sandborn Road, Portland, died Thursday 
in Lansing.

He was born Jan. 27, 1892, in Maple Ridge, the son of Peter Hartwick and 
Dorothy Palmateer.  He was retired from Oldsmobile after 25 years and also 
retired as carpenter from Sunfield Lumber.

He is survived by three sons, Orvile, Theron and Melvin all of Portland; one 
daughter Mrs. Irene Barrus, of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Shaver, of Lansing.  Services will 
be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Neller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Morris 
Christenson officiating.

Burial will be in Danby Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be James Barrus, and Lane, 
Steve, Noble, Gregory and Pete Hartwick.
