Ionia Daily Sentinel - 26 March 1962
Funeral mass will be sung at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Portland at 9:30 
Tuesday morning for Newton A. Hartwig, 52, of 318 Washington Street, Portland.  
He died unexpectedly Saturday at St. Lawrence hospital in Lansing.  Mr. Hartwig 
was employed as department head of property and records at Fisher Body 20 
years.  He was past grand knight of Knights of Columbus of Portland.



Surviving are is wife, Vera; two sons, Larry of Mt. St. Mary's seminary at 
Norwood, Ohio, and Thomas Hartwig at home; a daughter, Kathryn Hartwig of 
Portland; his mother, Mrs. Julia Hartwig of Portland; a sister, Mrs. Cleo 
Glinsky of New York City; and a brother, Deward Hartwig of Lansing.



Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Monday evening at Neller Funeral Home in 
Portland. Rev. Fr. Casimir Zowacki will sing the funeral mass and interment 
will be at Portland cemetery. 



Bearers will be Charles Mathews, Don Manning, Francis Lawless, John lawless, 
Jr.,Dr. Clayton Koxx and Dee Mietler.
