Rev. Fr. Larry Hartwig, 58, died Sept. 21, 1998.  Father Hartwig established a
foundation for terminally ill indigent patients and their families.

Surviving are his mother, Vera Hartwig of Portland; brother, Thomas H.(Peggy)
Hartwig of Rockford; sister, Kay Hartwig of Grand Rapids; nieces and nephews,
Kristin and Greg Armock, and Sean and Meghan; and several aunts and uncles.  He
was preceded in death by his father, Newton Hartwig.

Funeral mass was celebrated Sept. 24 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland,
with Rev. Michael Danner officiating.  Contributions may be made to the
foundation, envelopes are available through DeVries Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo
Ave., SE, Kentwood, MI 49508.
