Funeral of Life-Long Resident of County Is Held on Wednesday

The funeral of Carilla Harwood, 76, a lifelong resident of Ionia county, who 
died at her home, 538 West Main street, last Sunday evening, was held from the 
late residence on Wednesday afternoon of this week.  Rev. C. J. Kruse, pastor 
of the Methodist church, was in charge.  Burial was made at the Balcom cemetery.

Mrs. Harwood was the widow of the late Lyman Harwood.  It was 14 years ago next 
May that the couple moved to Ionia from Berlin township.  For the past two 
years she had been in failing health.

She is survived by two sons, J. I. Harwood, Kansas City, Mo., and Leavitt 
Harwood of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Loretta Green and Mrs. Eugene Hackett. 

The two sons, a son-in-law and three grandchildren acted as pall bearers.
