The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, October 1947

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the 
Morris funeral home in Saranac for Luke P. Harwood, 83, who died Thursday 
morning, October 2, at 2:15 o’clock at his home located on and one-half miles 
south of Saranac.  The Rev. Glenn McCarty will officiate at the services with 
interment in Saranac cemetery.

Harwood was born June 20, 1864.  He operated a meat market in Saranac for 
several years before moving to his present farm.

He is survived by his wife Bertha, two sons, Erwin of Lansing and Glenn of 
Lake Orion and several grandchildren.
