Harwood died at 1:15 o’clock Wed. morning, at the home on West Main street, after an illness of about a year, his death having been expected for the past three weeks. Mr. Harwood comes from one of the pioneer families of Ionia county. He was born June 22, 1850, in Otisco, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Harwood. He has lived in this county all his life. For about 25 years he lived on his farm in Orange township, and fifteen years ago he moved to this city, where he continued his work of dealing in live stock. On May 29, 1870 he married Miss Luana Adgate of Berlin Twp., who survives him. They had four children, all of whom are living—Mrs. Iva Kneale of Orange, Mrs. W. A. Gove of Daytona, Fla., Guy and Jay Harwood of this county. There are 12 grandchildren, and Mr. Harwood leaves two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Amon Otis and Mrs. Chester Adgate of Saranac, and Abram Harwood of Berlin. All will be here for the funeral with the exception of Mrs. Gove. Rev. C. C. Buckner will conducted the funeral at the home at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon, with burial in Balcom cemetery.
