Mrs. Alberta Harwood, 82, of route one, Lyons, died Saturday morning at 4:30 
following a five year illness.

She was born February 20, 1875 in Berlin township, a daughter of Frederick 
Patrick and Sarah Heator.  Mrs. Harwood was married March 21, 1894 to William 
L. Harwood in Berlin township, Ionia county.  She attended Berlin Center 
Methodist church and celebrated her 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries.  Mrs. 
Harwood lived her entire life in Ionia county, in Berlin and Lyons townships 
and also resided for 19 years in Saranac.

Surviving are her husband, William L. Harwood; two sons, Kenneth Harwood of 
Berlin township and Mark P. Harwood of Lakewood, Ohio; one son, Edgar J. 
Harwood died in infancy; two granddaughters, Mrs. Avis Wahl of Lansing and Mrs. 
Marcia Porter of Sherwood, Oregon; a grandson, Fred W. Harwood of Lansing and 
six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Myrtie Keefer of route one, Lyons.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home Tuesday, 
October 29 at 2:30.  Interment will be in Balcom cemetery.  The family will be 
at the funeral home Sunday and Monday afternoons from 2 to 3:30.

Funeral services for Mrs. Leon (Alberta) Harwood, 82, were conducted Tuesday 
afternoon at 2:30 at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home.  The Rev. Heath T. 
Goodwin officiated.  Mrs. Harwood died Saturday morning, October 26.  Bearers 
were Arthur ??mbaugh, Charles Higbee, Walter Yeomans, Lee Hackett, Bert Hackett 
and Robert Beard.  Interment was in the family lot in Balcom cemetery.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Mark P. Harwood of Lakewood, Ohio, 
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wahl and family of Lansing, Fred Harwood of East Lansing, 
Mrs. W.E. Armstead of Cadillac, Mrs. Carrie Carlyle of Plainwell, Mr. and Mrs. 
Bert Kimball of Saranac, and William Ha?s, Mrs. A.J. MacLeod and Mrs. J. Hovey 
of Owosso.
