Belding- Linton "Lint" Jessie Harwood, 85, of Belding, passed away Wednesday 
morning, Oct. 31, 2012, at Metron in Belding.

Lint was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Wayland, the son of Elbert and Bertha (Sargent) 
Harwood.

Lint proudly served his country in the United States Nay during World War II. 
After the war he married Hazel "Dean" Rhodes on Nov. 27, 1948, in Belding. In 
earlier years he had worked as a mechanic at Breimayer Chevrolet in Belding, 
worked part time for the City of Belding/ Department of Public Works and later 
served as deputy fire chief for the City of Belding from 1966 to 1992.He was a 
member of the American Legion Post 203 Belding, he enjoyed flying model 
airplanes, reworking old furniture and was an antique buff.

Lint is loved and survived by his wife, Dean, and their children, Gayla (Gary) 
Gasper, Tammy Hodges, all of Greenville, Linton Jess Harwood Jr. of Belding; 
grandchildren, Trevor Smith, Wendy Sparks, Jody Smith, Tara Richardson, Clay 
Harwood, Nicole Hodges and Samantha Hodges; and great-grandchildren, Tim Smith, 
Harley Smith, Caitlyn Smith, Madison Sparks, Mitchell Bailey, Devin Bailey, 
Justin Bailey, Brayden Harwood and Sydney Harwood.

Lint was preceded by  his parents and siblings, Stub, Pete and Paula.

Private graveside prayers will take place at River Ridge Cemetery with Pastor 
Ken Harger. 

There will be no visitation. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Belding Museum or Belding United 
Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral 
Home, Belding, where funeral care has been entrusted. Messages of condolence 
for the Harwood family also may be given at www.jffh.com.
