Lake Odessa Wave - Times - August 29, 1940
          DENNIS HASKELL, 91 PASSED AWAY SUN.

                                  --------------

           WAS PIONEER OF CARLTON TOWNSHIP.  

     FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY. BURIAL AT LAKESIDE.

                                   --------------

   Sunday morning Dennis Haskell, a 91 year old farmer living five miles southwest
of Lake Odessa, passed 
away after a short illness.

   Mr. Haskell was a quiet, hard working pioneer of this vicinity, living just over
the line in Carlton township.

   The funeral was held at the Tamarac church with the Rev. J. I. Batdorff, assisted
by the pastor, the Rev. E. M. 
Wheeler, officiating.  Mrs. Mary Curtis and Mrs. Sarah Meyers sang appropriate
songs.

   Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.  Mr. Haskell leaves his wife, three
grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren.
