Ionia Daily Sentinel, 4 Jan 1952

Mrs. Myrtie C. Haskins, 74, a lifelong resident of Saranac, died at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. Dewey Cahoon, Thursday, January 3, after being ill for two 
years.

She was born August 29, 1877, near Saranac.  She and her husband, Henry, 
operated the Commercial hotel in Detroit for 14 years before the advent of the 
automobile when drummers discontinued staying there overnight.  He preceded her 
in death 6 years ago.

She was a former member of the Rebekahs and the Royal Neighbor club.

Surviving are the daughter and two grandchildren.  She was a sister-in-law to 
Mrs. Myrtie Boardman of Ionia.

Services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Morris funeral home.  
Interment will be in Saranac cemetery.
