Ionia Sentinel – Tuesday, 30 December 1924

F. A. Haskins, living three quarters of a mile north of Wood’s Corners, died 
at 11 pm Sunday.  He has been a resident of Orleans Township nearly 60 years.  
Ferrington Agustus Haskin was born in Canada August 19, 1841, and died 
December 28, 1924, aged 83 years, four months and nine days.  He came to 
Michigan when a young man, and married Miss Ceresta Pierson.  To this union 
five children were born, Mary Alice, wife of Fred Peabody, of Shiloh, who died 
August 4, 1915; Charlie, who died in infancy; Byron A., of Orleans; Estella 
Blanche, wife of Dan H. King, of Belding, and Floyd M., of Saint Paul, Minn.  
His wife died May 29, 1876 leaving Floyd an infant of one month.

He moved to the farm on which he died, and which is now owned by his son Byron 
in October, 1870, and has spent the greater part of his life there.  He leaves 
beside the three children mentioned above 10 grandsons, two granddaughters, 
eight great-grandsons, four great-granddaughters, two brothers, John and David 
who reside outside the state, a brother-in-law, R. L. Pierson, of Orleans, and 
a number of other relatives.

The funeral will be held from the home of his son Byron on the State road 
Wednesday, December 31, at 1:30 pm sun time.  Rev. Beacock or Orleans, will 
conduct the service.
