Funeral services for Mrs. Matie Haskins, 72, will be held Thursday afternoon 
at 2 o’clock from the Morris Funeral home in Saranac.  Burial will be in 
Saranac Cemetery.

Mrs. Haskins died Saturday evening at her home in Merriweather in the Upper 
Peninsula.  Mrs. Haskins was the widow of A. J. (Bert) Haskins who preceded 
her in death in October, 1946 and most of her life had been lived in 
Michigan‘s Upper Peninsula.

Surviving her are two sons, Freeman of Grand Rapids and Ford of Dearborn; four 
grandchildren; and a brother, Emmet Gwinn of Marquette, Mrs. Myrtle Boardman 
of Ionia is a sister-in-law.  Mrs. Haskins was born at Crystal, the daughter 
of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Gwinn.
