The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 10, 1940

Mrs. Bertha Hass died Monday at 5:40 p.m. at her home on Morse street.  She 
was the wife of Frank Hass and had been ill for the past two weeks.  Born in 
Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Kosbar, she came to Ionia with 
her parents when she was still a child.  She was a member of St. John’s 
Lutheran church.

Surviving are the husband, four children, Mrs. Mable Orwig of Orleans, Robert 
of Saginaw, Albert of Ionia, and LaVern of Ionia; two brothers, Henry Kosbar 
of Hastings and Charles of Ionia. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the home at 2 o’clock 
and from the church on North Jefferson street at 2:30 o’clock.  Rev. R. A. 
Rook will officiate and interment will be held at Highland park cemetery.
