Ionia Daily Standard, 5 May 1902

Ludwig Hass died on Saturday evening at 6:45, after an illness which confined
him to the house only two or three days.  He was aged 51 years.  The ailment is
given as rheumatism.  Deceased resided on Jones street and was employed at the
car shops.  He was a man highly esteemed for his uprightness.  He was an active
member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, from whence the funeral will be attended,
at 2:30 o’clock on tomorrow afternoon.  The wife and five children, 4 girls and
1 son, are left to mourn the death of a kind husband and father.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Highland Park Cemetery.]
