SARANAC- Robert E. Hatadis, 51, of Morrison Lake Gardens, Saranac, died Monday 
afternoon in Grand Rapids.

Funeral arrangements will announced later by the Leddick Funeral Home of Ionia.

SARANAC- Capt. Robert E. Hatadis, USMC-Ret., 51, of Morrison Lake Gardens, 
rural Saranac, died Monday afternoon in Ferguson-Droste-Ferguson Hospital in 
Grand Rapids.

He was born in Grand Rapids, Oct. 23, 1930, the son of Glenn and Fern Thomas 
Hatadis. He moved with his family to Lansing as a boy and graduated from 
Lansing Eastern High School in 1950.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean campaign and also 
during the Viet-Nam war, and retired as a captain after 20 years of service.

After his Marine retirement, he lived in Kansas City, Mo., for four  years 
before coming to Morrison Lake Gardens in 1975. He began work as a correction 
officer at Michigan Reformatory in 1976 and was employed there at the time of 
his death.

Capt. Hatadis was married to Helen Cleeyes in Lansing Feb. 10, 1951. She 
survives, as well as his parents, of Lansing; a son, Steven, of Kansas City, 
Mo., and a daughter Cynthia of Independence, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Glen of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Richard of 
Houston, Tex.; and one sister, Mrs. Patricia Berry of Lansing.

Funeral services will be from the Leddick Funeral Home in Ionia Thursday at 10 
a.m., the Rev. Samuel Hoyt of South Baptist Church, Lansing, officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 
p.m.
