Geraldine “Gerry” Hatch, (formerly of Portland and Eagle) passed away on 
Thursday, March 14, in her Hemet, Calif. home.

Mrs. Hatch was a member of the Hemet United Methodist Church.  She was Past 
Worthy Matron of Eastern Star of Portland.  Her hobbies included ceramics, 
crocheting and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry T. and Margaret (Moyer) Smith of 
Eagle, brothers, Rev. Douglas A. Smith and Richard C. Smith; and her first 
husband, George Lakin, who died in 1983.  George was the father of their 
daughters, Sheila Young of Indian Wells, Calif., and Karen O’Hagan of Temecula, 
Calif.

She is also survived by her present husband, Robert S. Hatch; three 
grandchildren, Steven Fontana, Julie Fontana and Stacia Noel; and one great-
granddaughter, Stephanie Fontana.  She is also survived by brothers, Roger 
Smith of Salem, Ore. and Alien Smith of Portland; three sisters, Harriet 
Patrick of Eagle, Mary Alice Lawless and Marcia Ackerson of Portland; step-
children, Robert E. Hatch of Mission Viego, Calif., Stephanie Stufft of 
Temecula, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Thomas Stufft of Temecula, Calif., Amy 
Limoges of San Jacinto, Calif.; Greg O’Hagan of Garden Grove, Calif., and 
Vickie Ranson, of Irvine, Calif.; step-great grandchildren, Alex Stufft, Joshua 
Limoges, Justin and Evan Ranson.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, March 28 at Miller-Johns Mortuary of 
Hemet, Calif.  Interment followed in Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, Calif.
