Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Fri. Aug. 11, 1950

SARANAC- James W. Hatch, 88, died Thursday, Aug. 10, at 9:30 p.m. at the Ionia 
Rest Home on Yeomans street. Mr. and Mrs. Hatch were both taken to the Rest 
home last winter for care. Her condition is reported so low that she was not 
told of her husband's death.

He was born Aug. 29, 1860, in Boston township and lived on that farm for fifty 
years. Almost 40 years ago he and his wife moved to Saranac where they live on 
Center Street.

On April 17, 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Hatch were married 61 years.

Surviving are the wife, Minnie, a son, Carl of Pontiac; two daughters, Mrs. 
Jessie Cahoon of Boston and Mrs. Bessie King of Detroit; four grandchildren; 
and five great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Morris funeral home 
with the Rev. Glen McCarty officiating. Interment will be in South Boston 
Cemetery.
