Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. Davidson of Lowell. Horace Hatch was born in Ashtabula Co., Ohio, Dec. 22, 1828. He was twice married, first to Miss Abigail Smith of Ohio and in the fall of 1868, they moved to Lowell and the spring following moved to the farm in Keene where he has since resided and where Mrs. Hatch died in the spring of 1870. His last wife, who survives him, was Mrs. Harriet Payne Dann of Saranac. By his first marriage he had four children, Rufus who died in early childhood, Orrin T., who lives on the old homestead, Wilton W. of Riverside, Cal., and Mrs. John Knee of Greenville. By the last marriage he had two children, one of whom Myrtie M. Hatch is living. As a man and citizen none bore a more enviable reputation, the most obliging of neighbors, the kindest of all husbands and fathers. He died as he lived, upright, conscientious and above reproach or adverse criticism. Mourned by all and it is a comfort to the bereaved friends to think that his work was so well done.
