The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, November 29, 1931


The funeral services for Fred Hathaway, 73, of Portland, were held there 
Thursday afternoon.  Mr. Hathaway died at his home Tuesday.  Rev. C. W. 
Punter, pastor of the Congregational church, was in charge of the services.

Mr. Hathaway was born in Massachusetts and came to Michigan when a young man, 
locating in Portland.  His first wife died several years ago. his second wife 
was Miss Luna Albro, who also preceded him in death.  He leaves two sons, 
Richards Hathaway, of California, and Harold Hathaway, of Detroit.  He had 
long been identified with the furniture manufacturing plants of Portland.
