Hathaway died at her home in Portland at about 10:30 Saturday morning. Appendicitis was the cause of her sudden death. Mrs. Hathaway and her four-year-old son, Harold, had only last week returned from a visit with her parents at Detroit. The husband, with Harold, a four year old son, survive her. She is also survived by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Albro, and one sister, Mrs. Clara Chriswell, of Lansing. Mrs. Hathaway graduated from the Portland school in the class of ’87. She taught in the Halladay district in Sebewa for several years, as well as in the country school in Danby. She was a prominent member of the Portland Literary Club. Funeral services were held at the house Sunday…..(illegible). The services were in charge of Rev. W. W. Slee of the M. E. church, and interment was made in Portland cemetery.
