Hatinger, 88, of North Jackson Street, Ionia, died Saturday at Ionia Manor. He was born in Bushnell Township, Montcalm County, April 22, 1894, to George and Fannie (Thomas) Hatinger. He attended high school in Palo, and farmed on the family farm. He married Nevene Moore in Ionia in 1916. They lived in Bushnell Township on the farm, before moving to Palo, and eventually Ionia. She preceded him in death December 29, 1945. He married Reva Boughnere in 1948, and she passed away in 1968. In 1972 he married Ruby Carpenter in Ionia. She survives. He worked at the Michigan Training Unit from 1931 until his retirement in 1964. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Caroll (Bud) of Ionia, and Weston of Orleans; four daughters, Mrs. Salem (Llewella) Ostrander, of Ionia, Mrs. Gordon (Georgia) Sargeant of Ionia, Mrs. Vernon (Kathleen) Heppe of Orleans, and Mrs. Robert (Janet) Peabody, of Portland; 15 grandchildren, and 17 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from Leddick Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Dow of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
