Lake Odessa Wave - July 8, 1954
           JESSIE B. HATTON DIED THURSDAY

   Mrs. Jessie B. Hatton, 92, died Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Roy Rowlader, at 
Woodland.

   She was born January 1, 1862, in Seneca county, Ohio, the daughter of R. 1. and
Nancy Carey.  She came to 
the Nashville area at the age of 23 and lived there several years before moving to a
farm three miles west of 
Lake Odessa.  She moved to Woodland in 1932.

   Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death in 1932.

   Mrs. Hatton was a member of the Methodist church, the W. S. C. S., W. C. T. U.
and the Woman's Study 
club.

   Surviving besides her daughter, Ethel, is one grandson, Hillis Tischer, of
Saranac.  

   The body reposed at  Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa until Saturday morning
and was taken to the 
Woodland Methodist church where services were held at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Fay
Wing officiating assisted 
by the Rev. Earl Champline.

   Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
