Ionia County News - Thursday, Sept. 21, 19396

Mrs. Emma Palmer received word Saturday that her sister, Mrs. Phila Hauck, was 
very ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Riley, of Battle Creek. Mrs. 
Palmer, accompanied by her daughters, Mrs. Arthur Barden and Mr. Barden went 
to see her Sunday and found her very low at the hospital. About two hours 
after their return home they received the news of her death. Mrs. Hauck was 
born near Palo, 1862, the daughter of Robert and Melissa Kelly, whose families 
settled in that locality in the early forties.
