Originally from Jersey City, NJ she also lived for many years in Sparta with her husband Curtis Redding Havens who preceded her in death in 1976. She leaves a loving family including her children: Alan C. (Barbara) Havens DDS, Brent L. (Susan Brown-Havens) Havens and Cheryl (Mike) Slaktoski; her grandchildren: Andrew and Jessica Havens, Jonathan Havens; Brittany Havens, Mallory Havens, Ryan T. Brown; Daniel Slaktoski, and Mark Slaktoski; one sister, Frances Kondrat; one brother-in-law John Christiansen; special nieces, Linda Weisenstein of New Jersey and Leah Spanburgh of W. Virginia. Local family also includes: Beatrice Wilmarth, Lorene Cook, Dorene and Carson Pelton. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant great-grandson, Timothy Curtis Havens and five of Loretta siblings. Profound thanks must be offered to Loretta’s physicians and nursing staff that helped her so much over these last years. Also special thanks to loving and caring staffs of Hospice of Michigan and Metron of Cedar Springs. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St., Belding, Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Fr. Fred Brucker the Celebrant. Visitation will also precede the Mass beginning at 9:30 a.m. In accordance with Loretta’s wishes, memorial contributions are recommended to a college fund for grandsons, Daniel and Mark Slaktoski.
