The Portland Observer, Wednesday, January 29, 1901
The remains of Mrs. Frank Havens were brought to Portland from Williamston for 
burial last Saturday evening.  Mrs. Havens was formerly Marie Davis, daughter 
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis of Portland.  Her husband is working for Charles 
Staley in the woods near Williamston and her death was caused by what the 
doctors said was abscess of the spleen, produced by a fall.  She was 28 years 
of age.  Funeral services were conducted from the U.B. church Monday afternoon 
by Rev. Griffin.  Deceased had been married to Mr. Havens about two years and 
her death occurred on the 26th.
