Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 4 May 1950

Mrs. Matilda Hawkins, 83, died at 5 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Lewis Munson, in Tecumseh where she had been making her home for the past 
1 ½ years.  She had been ill for some time.  For the two years prior to moving 
to Tecumseh, Mrs. Hawkins had resided with another daughter, Mrs. Zena Marsh, 
of Ionia.

Surviving besides the two daughters are a son, Melvin Fetzner, of Alma and many 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The body was removed to a Stanton 
funeral home.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
