Hawley, 59, of Lansing, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Doug retired from Fisher Body after 36 years of service. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and watching his children in sporting events at St. Casimir School gave him great pride. Doug truly loved his family and step-son Dominic. Family time was very important to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lauron Hawley. Surviving are wife, Jill Marie (Doerr); children Christopher Douglas Hawley, Jamie Marie Hawley, Dominic A. Doerr, Douglas Lauron Hawley, and Allison Katherine Hawley; two granddaughters, Hannah and Lindsey; mother Marie Hawley Kirby; and sister Dee Ann Hawley. A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Muir. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Education Fund.
