The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 26, 1936

The death of Mrs. Hattie M. Hawley, 71, wife of Gilbert Hawley, occurred 
Sunday evening, October 25, at the home in Saranac, after a month’s illness.

Surviving her besides her husband are seven children, Fred B. of Orleans 
township, Royal I. of Keene township, Mrs. Blanche Weber and Willard of Ionia, 
Mrs. Sarah Redemsky of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Roy Edlin of Easton township, and 
Mrs. Bernice Grove of Lyons; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Jenkins of Bruce’s 
Crossing, and Mrs. Marcia Scott of Keene; one brother, Frank Blough of Keene, 
thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was born in LaGrange, Indiana, August 14, 1865.  On October 4, 1883 she 
married Gilbert Hawley in Vergennes township.  Mrs. Hawley has lived in 
Saranac for 14 years and was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon October 28 at the Methodist 
church in Saranac with Rev. Loomis officiating.  Burial will be in the Easton 
cemetery.
