The Ionia County News, Thursday, December 13, 1934

Mrs. Eliza Hawley, mother of Mr. W. S. Anderson, Berlin township, died Tuesday 
night, December 11, about 10:30.  

Mrs. Hawley was born in Canada 88 years ago.  When she was three years old her 
parents came to Muskegon.  About that time her mother died and she came to 
Keene township….(illegible)…In 1864 she was married to Clark Hawley.  They 
lived in Easton several years,, coming from there to Ionia.  Mr. Hawley died 
in 1920.  For many years Mrs. Hawley lived with her daughter, Mrs. Anderson.  
She also leaves a grandson, Herbert Schilds, of Grand Rapids.

Definite funeral arrangements have not been made but it is understood that a 
private service will be held from the Stone Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 3 
o’clock with Rev. Paul Stewart officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill 
cemetery.
