He was born in Keene township, this county, August 12, 1868, and resided there with his parents until the spring of ‘84 when they moved to Boston township. The death of his father in January ‘86 threw extra responsibilities on his shoulders, there being a family of fourteen children, his being the first death from among them. He went to Oregon in ‘90 but returned in ‘93. He was highly respected as a citizen, a kind brother and a devoted son. The funeral services were held at Saranac, being conducted by Rev. J.A.S. Worden. --------------- Brevities – The remains of Jerome Hawley, who died last Thursday at his home four miles south, were buried at Saranac by undertaker Wm. J. Wilson. --------------- Orleans-Otisco – Jerome Hawley died at the residence of his mother, Thursday of consumption. The funeral services were held at Saranac, Sunday. The deceased leaves a mother and a large circle of friends.
