Ionia Sentinel Standard, 11 May 1954

C. Burnell Hawley, 54, of Route 1, died Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock at 
Blodgett Hospital where he had been a patient for about a month.

He was born in Morley, May 21, 1899, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. 
Hawley.

He has been a resident of Ionia county for the past 15 years and for the past 
year was state seed inspector.  He was also a member of the PMA committee for 
the past several years.

In 1921 he was married to the former Ruth Douglas at Morley.

Surviving besides his wife, Ruth, are two sons, Darl of Lake Odessa and Harold 
of Saginaw, two daughters, Mrs. Doris Vance of Pewamo and Mrs. Mary Low Schwab 
of Route 1, one brother, Bryon Hawley of Morley and 13 grandchildren.

He was a member of the Ionia B.P.O.E.

Mr. Hawley reposes at Boynton funeral home.  Funeral arrangements are 
incomplete.
