Hawley, 46, of Muir died Monday February 22, at 6 a.m. at his home following a heart attack. He was born June 14, 1913 at Gladwin, the son of Mr and Mrs William Hawley. He was married June 4, 1935 to Carrie M. Curtis of Hastings. They had lived in Muir four years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and had been employed at the Ranney Co. in Greenville. He is survived by his wife, Carrie; four sons, Richard of Ionia, Allen and Ray of Belding, Terry at home; four daughters, Mrs. Merle Hopkins, Mrs Barbara Jean Cole of Belding, Mrs Rosalind Fells of Muir, Linda Hawley of Matherton; four brothers, Melvin of Otsego, Virgil of Grand Rapids, William and Harold of Muir; four sisters, Mrs Vera Shepard of Grand Rapids, Mrs violet Rushford of Ionia, Evelyn Hawley and Mrs Leola Trapee of Muir. Service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the First Christian church in Muir with the Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial in Balcom cemetery.
