Ionia, Mich., July 2-While wading out into Long Lake, twelve miles north of here, in pursuit of a rowboat which was floating away Harry Jacobus, seventeen years old, son of Mrs. D.M. Hawley of this city, stepped into a hole in the lake bottom and was drowned. His body has not yet been recovered. Jacobus with a companion, went to Long Lake to install a camp for the 4th of July. The rowboat floated away from its moorings and Jacobus started after it. Suddenly he sank into the lake and was seen no more.
