He was born April 16, 1905, in Detroit the son of James and Anna Switzer Hay. He graduated from Detroit Northern High School and also attended Moody Bible Institute and the Ford Tool and Die School, Detroit. He married Esther Hoover, June 8, 1935 in Detroit. they lived in Detroit, Lansing and River Junction before moving to Lake Odessa in 1967. He worked as a Tool and Die Maker for the Ford Company for 25 years and also for Oldsmobile for 15 years, retiring in 1968. He was a member of the Lakewood Baptist Church. He s survived by his wife Esther; three daughters, Mrs.Walter Constance Gerstung, Bloomington, Illinois, Mrs.Gwendolyn Long, Fine Lake and Mrs.Marlin Marilyn Haybecker, Lake Odessa; one brother, Garfield, Lavonia; 8 grandchildren. One brother, Walter, preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Daryl Kauffman and the rev. Walter Gerstung officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
