R. Hay, 72, passed away suddenly Friday afternoon at 3:15 at her home on Church street, following a short illness. Mrs. Hay was born October 29, 1872 at Alton, Ontario, and lived her girlhood life in Canada. After her marriage to Dr. Hay they lived in Pewamo a few years, then came to Saranac and took up a permanent residence. She was a member of the Congregational church and its organizations for many years and also a member of the woman’s Club. She is survived by her husband and one brother, Rev. J. Knox Clark, of Belmont, Ontario, and several nieces and nephews. Rev. E. H. Humphrey conducted funeral rites at the Hay home Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock and burial was in Saranac cemetery.
