Hayden, age 92, of Ionia, passed away Sept. 11, 2009 in Ionia. She was born June 30, 1917 in Pewamo the daughter of Charles and Dora (Cook) Pickett. Ann married John Hayden June 29, 1935 in Pewamo who preceded her in death February of 1970. Ann retired from Ionia and Diamondale State Hospitals. She was a very active member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia, Ionia Moose Lodge, Ionia Business Women, Ionia Historical Society and American Cancer Society. She was also active with the Ionia Free Fair and helped out at the Ionia Community Theater Group. Ann is survived by her children, Patricia (Robert) Meyers of Ionia, James (Colleen) Hayden of Saranac, John (Sandra) Hayden of Saranac and Ella Marie Madsen of Bellview; sister, Mary Dawson of Byron Center; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, 1 son-in-law, John Madsen and 1 great-granddaughter Grace Hayden. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia with Rev. Tom Boufford Celebrant. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution in Ann’s name to SS Peter & Paul Church or charity of choice.
