The Ionia Daily Standard, Friday, January 22, 1897

Mrs. Mary Cornelia Hayes, aged 45 years, died last night, at the home of J. M. 
Root, near D., G.R. & W. passenger depot.  The funeral will be on Sunday, at 
11 a.m., from the above residence.  Rev. W. H. Scott will officiate, and 
interment will be in Highland Park.
