Carlton F. Hayes, age 80, of Ionia, passed away September 30, 2014.  He was 
born January 30, 1934 in Lansing the son of Arva and Lila (Oberly) Hayes Sr.  
Carlton married Martha Green on December 30, 1972 in Lansing.  He played 
Country Blue Grass Music with Catfish Country for over 30 years, where he made 
a lot of friends. 

Carlton is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Martha Hayes of Muir; 
children, Rebecca Musser of Ionia, Tracy (Donald) Wise of Sheridan, Mark 
(Annette) Seaman of St. Johns, Michael Hayes of Lansing, Elaine (Chris) 
Shattuck of Palo, Ammy (Jeff) Cooper of Muir, Cloressa Hayes of Lansing, 
Matthew Hayes of Lyons, and Lila King of Arizona; brother, Thurston (Doris) 
Hayes of Arizona; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-
great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, four 
brothers and two sisters. 

Memorial Services for Mr. Hayes will be held at the Lyons VFW, Sunday, October 
5, 2014 at 4 p.m.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Muir.
