Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Jan. 23, 1961

Funeral services for Amelia Hayes, 81, who died at her residence, 208 Dye 
street, Saturday morning, will be held at SS. Peter and Paul church Tuesday at 
9 a.m. Rosary will be recited at Myers funeral home at 7:30 Monday evening.

She was born in Bay City, November 1, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John 
Hayes.

Miss Hayes worked for a number of years at the Carten store. Later she went to 
Florida where she resided until after the death of her mother. She returned to 
Ionia and was employed as a bookkeeper until her retirement because of ill 
health.

She was a charter member of the Rosary society.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
