Arba Hayes Jr., 67, of 8269 Mill Street, Palo, died Monday at Carson City 
Hospital.  He was born October 23, 1920 in Lansing, the son of Arba and Lyla 
Hayes Sr.

He attended Palo Schools and married Janice Wrightsman in 1975.  He was a 
retired fork-lift driver or REO Motors in Lansing.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Billy Baker of Lansing and Jody 
Hayes of Palo; two daughters, Sharon and JoAnne Hayes, both of Palo; two step-
sons, Ricky Salisbury of Germany and Johny Salisbury of Lansing; five 
brothers, Thurston of Arizona, Kenneth of Eaton Rapids, Carl and Richard of 
Muir and Jack of Lansing; two sisters, Maxine Reeder of St. Johns and Alma 
June Darling of Montana; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. form the Hull Memorial Chapel 
of Muir, the Rev. Kenneth Bryde, retired Methodist minister, officiating.  
Burial will be in West side Cemetery, Hubbardston.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Lung Association in care of 
the funeral home.
