                       ROBERT J. HAYNOR

SUNFIELD - Robert J. Haynor, 71, of Greenbush, formerly of 5631 Eaton highway, 
Sunfield, died Sunday July 14.

Born in McBride on Sept. 9, 1913, he was the son of Lee J and Julia C. Haynor.

He graduated from Ithaca High School in 1932 and was twice awarded the most 
valuable football player award, the Ballard Trophy.

He served in the Armed Services in Italy and North Africa in World War II., 
following which he became an agent operator for Pere Marquette and later for C&O 
Railway in Sunfield.

He married Doris Helen Cure on March 4, 1947.

After accepting successive positions with C&O in Grand Ledge and Ionia, he 
retired in 1975 with 36 years of service.

In 1980, he and his wife moved to Greenbush, Mich.

He belonged to American Legion Post 274 and was a life member of VFW 3735, both 
in Oscoda, Michigan.

He is survived by his wife, twos ons, Rodney of Grand Ledge and Kerry of 
Sunfield; two grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Ball of Escondido, 
Calif.;three brothers; Elmore of Marinette,Wis., F.Hudson of Dearborn and Keith 
of Deland,Fla.,several nieces and a nephew and is mother-in-law Pearl Cure of 
Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, at Mapes Fisher Funeral Home 
in Sunfield at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Chris Schroeder will officiate, with a eulogy to be delivered by Edgar 
Fleethan. The Portland VFW will also assist.

Pallbearers will be Sherman Pranger, Edgar Fleetham, Sam Davids, Terry Gonser, 
Bob Rumfield and Lorne Sayer.

Honorary pall bearers will be Guy Taylor and Theo Lenon.
