Ionia County News, 25 Apr 1957

Alta E. Haysmer, 79, of RFD three, Ionia, passed away Saturday evening, April
20, after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Shiloh, Orleans township, December
13, 1877, the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Boyd.  She was married to Nelson
J. Haysmer, January 20, 1897.  He preceded her in death in 1949.  Mrs. Haysmer
was a lifelong resident of Ionia county, and a member of the State Road Club and
Banner Grange.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 23, at 2:30 p.m. from the Stone-Kauffman
Funeral Home, with Rev. Hubert Ellis of Belding officiating.  Burial was in the
family lot in Woodard Lake Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: Walter Youmans, Lee
Harrington, Joe Howorth, Charles Johnson, Robert Hicks, and Frank Hall.
