Mrs. Harriet Hazel, who has been confined to her bed for many years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grant Blackman, received word Monday of the death of her son, George Hazel, who was killed when the auto he was driving was struck by a train at a crossing near Lowell. Mr. Hazel was a farmer in that vicinity and besides the mother and sister in Portland is survived by a wife and two sons, Oliver and Charles Hazel, of Portland, and Alfred Hazel, Lake Odessa, are brothers. Mrs. and Mrs. Grant Blackman, Ralph and Russell Blackman, Oliver Hazel, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hazel and son, Roy, and daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright, attended the funeral held at the late home near Lowell Wednesday.
