Robert L. Hazel, 66, of 1416 Harrison, Lake Odessa, died Saturday at Pennock
Hospital, Hastings.  Born Feb. 10, 1923, in Lake Odessa, he was the son of
Alfred and Anna Sickles Hazel.  He was graduated from Lake Odessa High School,
served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was married to Daisy Barnum on
April 15, 1969; she survives.  He was employed by Hazel Brothers construction
Co. of Lake Odessa until his retirement in 1976.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a stepson, Gerald West of Lake Odessa;
three step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; three brothers, Clare
Hazel of Detroit, Richard Hazel of Florida, and Russell Hazel of Lake Odessa;
and two sisters, Pearl Bretz of Detroit and Fern Soper of Flint.  A brother,
Lee, and a sister, Frances, and a stepson, Gary West, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake
Odessa, with the Rev. George Speas officiating.  Burial will be in Woodland
Memorial Park.  A memorial has been established for Lake Odessa Ambulance
Service, in care of the funeral chapel.  The family will be at the funeral
chapel Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
