July 25, 1983 LEE A. HAZEL Lake Odessa- lee A Hazel, 71, of Lake Odessa died unexpectedly Saturday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital, following a heart attack. Born Feb. 23, 1912, in Lake Odessa, he was the son o Alfred and Anna Sickles Hazel, and attended Lake Odessa high School. He was married to Elnora Lucas in 1934 in Detroit. They made their home inLake Odessa, where he operated Hazel Brothers Construction Co., until 1962, when they moved to Grand Rapids. They returned to the Lake Odessa area in 1980. In recent years they had spent winters in Florida. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Richard and Lee Jr., both of Lake Odessa; a daughter, Mrs. Art (Betty) Erickson of Lake Odessa, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers; Clare o Grosse Pointe, Richard of Dunedin, Fla.; Russell and Robert both of Lake Odessa; three sisters, Pearl Bretz and Frances Harrett, both of Detroit; and Fern Soper of Flint. One sister,, Helen, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Randall Kohls officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Rick, Randy, Ryan and Lance Hazel. Paul Klifman and Harold Jackson. A memorial has been established for the Lake Odessa Ambulance.
