Mr. Hazen was born in Barry county September 19,1874 and had resided in the community all his life, moving to Lake Odessa in 1931 from a farm in South Boston. He was a jeweler by trade and was associated with his father in business in Clarksville for years, taking over the business after the death of his father. At the time of his death, he was supervisor of Odessa township, being elected two years ago and in which office he had also served before. Mr. Hazen was well known and gained any friends by his beloved personality and congeniality and well be missed by al the community. Surviving are his wife Celine, a daughter Mrs. Gretchen Benedict and three grandchildren of Lake Odessa and a brother Charles of Hastings. The funeral services were held Sunday at 3 at the Pickens Chapel with Rev. A. J. Pitman, pastor of the Congregational church, of which he was a member, officiating. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
